1 - Thursday ( September 19 ) : Shalom and welcome!

Activities:

  • Welcome to Israel - Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport - Your VIP fast track assistant will greet you at the sleeve of the plane. After assisting with arrival procedures and collecting your baggage, you will be taken to meet your driver.

  • Private transfer to Jerusalem & check-in to the hotel. - Please note: check-in time is after 3:00 PM. If one arrives early they can leave their luggage at the hotel's storage room.

  • Behind the Scenes Tour of Jerusalem Biblical Zoo - Step into an enchanting world at The Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem. Wander through beautiful lush landscapes and encounter animals from the Land of Israel and around the world. The zoo maintains a permanent focus on animal welfare, preservation of endangered species, breeding, returning animals to the wild, and environmental conservation research.

  • Welcome reception and opening speaker at the Israel Aquarium - The visit will include a tour of the new aquarium.

  • Festive group dinner at a local restaurant

2 - Friday ( September 20 ) : Urban Nature in Jerusalem

  • Morning bird watching at Jerusalem Bird Observatory - In 1993, two young birdwatchers discovered a banded migrant bird from Sweden and so started the Nili and David Jerusalem Bird Observatory, a center of education, science, and community located next to the Knesset. Over 50,000 visitors, from around the world and all sectors of society, flock to visit the JBO. You’ll be joining them to experience an unforgettable up-close bird banding activity and learn about Israel’s vital importance to global bird migration.

  • Visit the Gazelle Valley - Located in the heart of Jerusalem, in the shadow of the infamous Holyland apartment block, the Gazelle Valley was saved by SPNI and turned into a world-class urban wildlife site. It’s a very special type of park, and a haven for the endangered Israeli mountain gazelle. Amir Balaban, our Director of Urban Nature, will tell you the story of how the park came to be and how it’s being used as a model for urban sustainability in Israel and around the world.

3 - Saturday ( September 21 ) : HEAVENLY AND EARTHLY JERUSALEM

Activities:

  • Breakfast at your hotel

  • Multicultural tour of Jerusalem Old City - Meet the people and places that make this place so unique. In the Jewish Quarter, uncover the layers of Jewish history from the time of the First Temple until the present day. In the Christian Quarter, visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and, if conditions permit, visit one of the holiest Muslim sites, the Temple Mount. Throughout the tour explore the complexity of a city that is holy to the three major religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

  • Authentic Lunch at the Arab Market

  • Afternoon - free time OR go on a hike in Jerusalem Hills - Explore the Jerusalem Hills at the beautiful Sataf forest for a hike through the area. The Sataf is on the site of ancient agricultural terraces that date to the time of the ancient Israelites. Walk between the green trail, see the ancient water channels, and explore the local Israeli trees, such as olive, fig, almond, and pomegranate. Along the way - forage for edible plants.

4 - Sunday ( September 22 ) : The Lowest Place on Earth

  • Begin with a magical Dead Sea Boat Ride - Embark on an exclusive boat ride on the Dead Sea and sail to see a captivating 'salt-chimneys forest'. During this unique experience you will enjoy the wondrous muds, salt pearls, salt diamonds, water springs streaming to the sea and sink holes filled with sweet water. Learn about the ecosystem and the environmental issues connected to the Dead Sea guided by The Dead Sea Revival Project expert.

  • Visit Ein Gedi Field School - Tour the complex, hear about the programs that take place here and how this place was a home for evacuees after October 7.

  • Group lunch.

  • Hike in Ein Gedi Nature Reserve - Nahal David beautiful desert oasis, is a spectacular water hike for all ages. Trails in a range of levels of difficulty take you alongside and through the cool, fresh waters, down waterfalls, along sheer cliffs, and past lush greenery and invasive species. According to tradition, David sought refuge from King Saul, and his courage and leadership are commemorated here. If you’re both quiet and lucky, you might even glimpse the sure-footed ibex and other local animals.

  • Travel north through the Jordan Valley.

5 - Monday ( September 23 ) : Bird's Eye View

  • Sunrise tour of Hula Valley - Undoubtedly one of the annual highlights of Israeli nature is the phenomenal experience of watching 40,000 cranes take off from the Hula Valley while the sun rises over the Golan Heights. Bring your binoculars and cameras for one of the best nature experiences available anywhere in the world.

  • Geo-political brief with an expert - Lookout over the Israel-Lebanese border from Metula and hear about the geopolitics of the area with Lieutenant Colonel (Res.) Sarit Zehavi, CEO and founder of Alma, a non-profit independent research and education center specializing in Israel’s security challenges on its northern border. (alternative - at the Alma Center they offer a security Crisis Simulation which gives a better sense of the complicated decision-making process during times of crisis).

  • Visit Maghar city and hear about the Arab sector of SPNI

  • Authentic Druze meal and home hospitality - Enjoy a home made Galilean dinner, and get to know your hosts and their culture and history.

6 - Tuesday ( September 24 ) : A look into the future

  • Tulip Winery - wine and light meal - Visit the very special Tulip Winery in Kfar Tikva, Village of Hope, an inclusive kibbutz-like community whose population consists of people with special needs. The winery integrates the production of quality wines with social responsibility. Tulip aspires to enable members of the community to develop and realize their potential through working in the winery. Enjoy wine tastings besides local cheese and fresh produce.

  • Boat tour in the Mediterranean from Haifa

  • Drive to Tel Aviv & check-in to the hotel.

  • Free evening and dinner on your own - Meal and transportation are not included.

7 - Wednesday ( September 25 ) : The beauty of the desert

  • Drive south

  • Tour of Western Negev - the Gaza Envelope - Stop at key lookout points for an in-depth discussion of the complexity of the Gaza Border situation.

  • Stop at the Nova Festival Memorial - At Re'im forest bear witness to the tragedy of the Nova Festival in October 7.

  • Lunch and home hospitality in Ofakim - Meet Osi Lankri, one of Ofakim's "Culinary Queens" - Enjoy a home-cooked meal in Osi's home and hear about her life in Ofakim where she was born and raised, and where some of the October 7th's worst events took place.

  • Drive to Sde Boker and meet Meidad Goren

  • Go on a jeep tour into the desert - Ride in the Nahal Zin area, which is the longest wadi or dry riverbed in the Negev Desert. Stop at lovely lookouts, water oasis spots and spot together local birds.

  • Group outdoor dinner.

  • Drive back to Tel Aviv.

8 - Thursday ( September 26 ) : Take Israel Back home

  • Easy morning and free time. - - OR - time to add a lecture / walking urban tour. Check-out by noon. (no bus included this morning)

  • Lunch at Halbrecht Foodgarden

  • Afternoon - Rewilding Project at Kibbutz Maagan Michael - Meet with Gershon Peleg, former CEO of SPNI, and tour of SPNI Field School and Start-Up Nature Rewilded Wetlands.

  • Closing session and Festive dinner

  • Group transfer to the airport - Your VIP agent will meet your group at the terminal to assist with check-in and security procedures for your flight.

Terms of Payment

Deposit is due immediately to secure the booking.

Balance for the trip is due no later than 60 days prior to the first day of trip. An invoice will be sent 90 days before the trip.

  • The itinerary is subject to change as a result of unforeseen changes from suppliers, weather, etc.
  • This proposal is valid for 1 week for private clients, and 10 days for groups. 

 

Cancellation Policy

Bookings can be cancelled within 48 hours AFTER REGISTRATION, with a full refund.

For cancellations made:

·         Up to 60 days prior to departure, any payments above the deposit towards the trip will be refunded. The deposit is non-refundable.

·         60-30 days prior to departure, 50% of the total tour cost per person will be refunded.

·         29-0 days prior to departure, the client will incur 100% of the cost of the tour.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing.
