“IN SEARCH OF ISRAELI CUISINE” –

FOOD AND SUSTAINABILITY IN THE NORTH

Our signature culinary trip was inspired by the film In Search of Israeli Cuisine, and organized by Via Sabra’s Roslyn Roucher (who was on our 1st Israel Ride!). Ros helped organize such a successful tour in 2017, we’re thrilled to be using Via Sabra again this year.

Eat your way through the country while exploring, “What is Israeli Cuisine?”

Sun Oct 17, 7AM pickup at Ramada hotel in Jerusalem; return to Ramada Mon night, Oct 18.

v

What is the situation with regard to COVID-19 in Israel?

v
As COVID-19 subsides in Israel, rules for entering the country are rapidly changing. Currently, only Israeli citizens, first-degree relatives of Israeli citizens, and a limited number of tour groups are allowed into the country. The hope is that this will change as of July 1, and all those who have been vaccinated will be permitted to enter. As of now, in order to enter Israel, one must present a negative PCR test that was taken within 72 hours prior to your flight. Upon arrival in Israel, you must take another PCR test at the airport. In order to avoid the need to quarantine, if you have been vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 outside of Israel, you must take a serological test to determine that you have antibodies. Via Sabra can help arrange this test for you. Once the Ministry of Health receives the results of that test, you will be released from quarantine.  All of our tours are planned in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines. Testimonials
“Have been to Israel many times, and being foodies the Culinary Day Tour in Galilee looked just up our alley, and it certainly delivered. We spent a wonderful day with Vadim, a very knowledge and fun guide who loves food too like us. First, a few hours of culinary delights and tasting local delicacies in Akko (or Acre). We learned a lot about the history of the area and got some good insights into local food purveyors you will rarely find elsewhere, like the spice shop that's been in the same family since the Ottoman Empire times, or the local sweets seller who brings his treats on a cart from his home each morning. Akko is an intriguing port city with an immense multicultural history, and the local food shows it. Then we were off to Sallama, a Bedouin village midway between Akko and the Sea of Galilee. There we spent a truly memorable evening with a very hospitable Bedouin family, learning about their history (from the desert to a modern village), and then cooked and ate delicious meal with the family (way too much food, but was simply delightful). Unfortunately didn't get to spend any time in their tent because weather conditions weren't favorable but we got a nice invitation to return (and we certainly will) Overall a memorable day filled with great food, good company and wonderful experiences. Will definitely repeat. Also, Jenny at Via Sabra was great to work with. We booked our experience very last minute during our Israel trip in December, and Jenny made everything so easy and smooth for everyone. Highly recommended. ”

“My daughter and I wanted to see as much as possible of Israel in two weeks. She had been there on Birthright but I had never been. While the tour was expensive it was pretty exhaustive and Via Sabra listened to what we wanted and made everything happen. We loved out guides, Mark and Sarit, and it was helpful to have someone to drive and guide us as we wanted to cover as much of the country as possible. So, although the trip was pricey, it covered all our bases, including a side trip to Jordan and a trip to Bethlehem. They are a first rate tour company and most of their recommendations were spot on.”
