Activities:

  • Meet your guide at the Jaffa Gate and begin your Jerusalem tour

  • Tower of David Museum - Begin the tour with the incredible view of the Old City, the Temple Mount and the New City from the Tower of David. This is a great introduction to your day and the places you will be visiting.

  • Continue to Mount Zion - The traditional site of the tomb of King David, holy to Jews, Christians, and Muslims. On the ground level are several Jewish synagogues. The second level the contains the Cenacle room where two major events in the early Christian Church are commemorated: the Last Supper and the coming of the Holy Spirit to the apostles.

  • Enter the Old City itself through the Zion Gate and walk through the Jewish and Muslim Quarters on your way to the Christian Quarter.

  • Jewish Quarter - The Jewish Quarter is best known for the Western Wall, but there’s a lot more to see and do here. See archaeological finds from First and Second Temple periods, Roman ruins, and vibrant synagogues, learning institutions which jostle for space in these busy stone streets. The central plaza offers an excellent place to contemplate the power this quarter holds for so many.

  • Lunch beak at the Arab Market - Browse in the famous Arab souk (market) in the Muslim Quarter. Check out the local hummus and sweets, the many stalls selling spices, pastries, pottery, sheepskin, embroidered clothes, and so much more. Meet store owners whose stores have been in their family for generations. (meal not included)

  • Via Dolorosa - Traditionally accepted as the last route trodden by Jesus as he bored the cross and was led to the site of crucifixion, the Golgotha. Follow the 14 Stations of the Cross, marking significant events along the route. Behold the 2nd century Arc in the Via Dolorosa street: early tradition held that Pontius Pilate stood here and thundered "Ecce Homo!" Which means "Behold the man" - the words of Pilate as he presented Jesus to the crowd. However, we now know that pagan Emperor Hadrian constructed the arch. Below the Convent are the Lithotrities where Jesus was publicly tried and where the Roman soldiers mocked him. Other stations note different traditions, and he last 5 Stations of the Cross are inside the Church of Holy Sepulcher.

  • Tour of the Christian Quarter and Church of the Holy Sepulcher - One of the four neighborhoods of Jerusalem’s Old City, the Christian Quarter is home to a rich tapestry of Christians of many denominations. The historic and impressive Church of the Holy Sepulcher, encompassing the last 5 Stations of the Cross, dominates the area. Retrace the footsteps of generations of pilgrims.

It is advised that you check with your airline to confirm their requirements, as they may differ. As of October 9, it is no longer required to complete an entry form to enter Israel. • Health Insurance It is a condition of your booking through Via Sabra / Israel4All, as well as the State of Israel, that you obtain travel health insurance which includes coverage for COVID-19. What's the weather like in Israel?

v
In Israel, the northern and coastal areas enjoy a Mediterranean climate, meaning summers are hot and dry, while winters are cool and rainy. Down south and in the east, it's much drier. Rainfall usually comes between October and early May, with the most rain falling from December to February. It is always best to check the weather forecast beforehand. Spring (late March – May): Daytime temperatures are generally very pleasant - around 65-70°F, though it can still be hot in some areas (such as the Dead Sea and Eilat). There is a slight chance of rain, but it doesn't happen often. It can be cooler in the evenings in the North and Jerusalem - approximately 45°F. Summer (late May - late September): Temperatures are usually in the high 80s-90s. At this time of year, humidity will be highest in Tel Aviv and Tiberias. Other areas such as Jerusalem are drier and cooler, particularly at night. The desert, Masada and Eilat are extremely hot, but dry. It will almost never rain in the summer in Israel! Fall (late September – November): Same as Spring, but the rain can begin towards the end of the season. Winter (December - early March): Winter can be mild and sunny, or severe and overcast. There's often heavy rain and, in January and February, even snow at times! Temperatures will be in the 50s-60s most places, but in the 40s in Jerusalem and the Galilee hills, and cold at night. Pack layers and be prepared for anything! Weekly weather forecast

Testimonials
“This was my first time to Israel and it was truly an incredible way to experience everything this beautiful place has to offer. We focused mostly on culinary tours in markets, and our tour guide Orit know everything and was so organized getting us from place to place so we wouldn't miss anything. She even was able to make adjustments on the spot when things didn't go exactly as planned, and the whole trip felt very smooth for us- we didn't have to worry about anything! We also somehow managed to eat 3 dinners a night, there is no shortage of delicious food to taste. We learned so much from our guide and she had the best advice for where to explore in our free time. I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone who wants to get off the beaten path and experience the cultures in a whole new way. Can't wait to come back! ”
