Stretching between the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee (Hebrew: Kinneret) to the bottom of Mount Hermon (the highest mountain in Israel) the Golan is one of Israel’s most beautiful and controversial regions. In ancient times this was an area with a rich Jewish presence, as archaeological excavation uncovered many ancient houses, olive press and synagogues, mainly from the Talmudic era (2nd-7th century AD). Between the years 1948-1967 this elevated plateau was held by Syrian forces who were constantly attacking Israeli communities in the valley, determined to make their lives nearly impossible. During the 6-Days War of 1967, the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) managed to push the Syrians further back into Syria by getting a hold of part of the Golan Heights. This astounding military achievement brought quiet to the towns and villages in the valley and enabled the development of the Israeli Golan, but soon enough another war broke out, harsh battles ensued, threatening to destroy all that was built here and much more.

Begin the day with a Jeep tour to understand the terrain and geography of the area

Golan Heights - Explore the Golan Heights by Jeep or ATV. Learn about the recent history of the region and explore the issues that have confronted Israel during the civil war in Syria. Stop at Har Bental, an extinct volcano and an army stronghold.

Ancient Katzrin park - The ruins of the ancient Jewish village of Katzrin are located in the central Golan. The village was discovered and excavated about 30 years ago. The remains of ancient Katzrin have been restored after excavation: the columns of the synagogue are upright once more and the houses near the synagogue are two stories high and roofed. Samples of ancient household utensils and agricultural implements are displayed in the houses and there are activities showing life during ancient times - such as pita baking (pocket bread or flatbread). Make lunch of hot bread, goat cheese, olives, olive oil, and zaatar (hyssop). Enjoy a group buffet beneath the olive trees.

What's the weather like in Israel?

In Israel, the northern and coastal areas enjoy a Mediterranean climate, meaning summers are hot and dry, while winters are cool and rainy. Down south and in the east, it's much drier. Rainfall usually comes between October and early May, with the most rain falling from December to February.
It is always best to check the weather forecast beforehand.
Spring (late March – May): Daytime temperatures are generally very pleasant - around 65-70°F, though it can still be hot in some areas (such as the Dead Sea and Eilat). There is a slight chance of rain, but it doesn't happen often. It can be cooler in the evenings in the North and Jerusalem - approximately 45°F.
Summer (late May - late September): Temperatures are usually in the high 80s-90s. At this time of year, humidity will be highest in Tel Aviv and Tiberias. Other areas such as Jerusalem are drier and cooler, particularly at night. The desert, Masada and Eilat are extremely hot, but dry. It will almost never rain in the summer in Israel!
Fall (late September – November): Same as Spring, but the rain can begin towards the end of the season.
Winter (December - early March): Winter can be mild and sunny, or severe and overcast. There's often heavy rain and, in January and February, even snow at times! Temperatures will be in the 50s-60s most places, but in the 40s in Jerusalem and the Galilee hills, and cold at night. Pack layers and be prepared for anything!

We recommend you call your phone carrier to help you determine whether your smartphone is unlocked and can be used in Israel. If your smartphone is unlocked, then all you need is a SIM card rental upon arrival. Please contact us for details on SIM card rentals. Alternatively, some carriers offer international service packages with daily or monthly fees. Please note that eSim technology is not widely available yet in Israel. We advise that you have another option available to you for your cell phone.

Your guides, bus drivers, and tour planners are in constant contact with security officials to make sure that each day your itinerary is safe to visit in many ways - whether that’s traveling to the destination, confirming the site has accessible safety shelters, and the site is open to the public. You will only travel to areas that are permitted for visitors.

Terms of Payment
Deposit is due immediately to secure the booking.
Balance for the trip is due no later than 60 days prior to the first day of trip. An invoice will be sent 90 days before the trip.

- The itinerary is subject to change as a result of unforeseen changes from suppliers, weather, etc.
- This proposal is valid for 1 week for private clients and 10 days for groups.
Cancellation Policy
Bookings can be cancelled within 48 hours AFTER REGISTRATION, with a full refund.
For cancellations made:
· Up to 60 days prior to departure, any payments above the deposit towards the trip will be refunded. The deposit is non-refundable.
· 60-30 days prior to departure, 50% of the total tour cost per person will be refunded.
· 29-0 days prior to departure, the client will incur 100% of the cost of the tour.
All cancellation requests must be made in writing.
