*** PLEASE NOTE: OUR CAMPAIGN IS CLOSED FOR ORDERS*** LAST DAY TO ORDER: NOVEMBER 23, 2023***

In the wake of the October 7th massacre in southern Israel, hundreds of thousands have been displaced; homes and towns, offices and business centers have been shut down; and thousands are struggling to rebuild their lives and livelihoods in so many ways.

Our partners across southern Israel are struggling and many of you know them too from your trips to Israel. We visited their farms and picked fruits and vegetables. We toured their olive groves and pressed olive oil through ancient methods. We spent time in their galleries and boutique stores, learning how traditional practices meet new crafts and production methods. And we contributed to their efforts for social change and supportive work with many populations from Israeli society.

Together, we heard their stories and shared their enthusiasm. We were inspired by their vision and returned home with impressions that we told others about and hope one day to return to.

This Chanukah, Via Sabra invites you to bestow a unique gift from Israel while also supporting hard-hit Israeli small businesses and organizations.

This holiday season, give a gift of double impact:  share the beauty of Israel and directly support Israeli businesses.

A gift that gives back

Many of you have asked how you can help and we found a way: purchase items from Israeli businesses that have been shut down by the war. With each gift box, you buy directly from an Israeli business and share beautiful products from Israel with others for the holidays.

What’s in the Chanukah Gift Box and who are you supporting in Israel?

Among the products you’ll receive are:

– A ceramic chanukiah (menorah) and candles, handmade by residents employed by Enosh – the Israeli Mental Health Association, the largest mental health organization in Israel, delivering comprehensive community-based rehabilitation services to people in Israel grappling with psychosocial disabilities and their families.

– A package of pampering, natural soaps, in a variety of colors and fragrances, handmade by Shirat Hamidbar, an organic farm in southern Israel that grows medicinal herbs and spices, among other fruits, to produce all-natural cosmetics, oils, infusions and spices.

– An artisan ceramic bowl by Zenab Garbia, an Israeli Bedouin artist, who founded and leads Gallery Zenab in Segev Shalom. Zenab’s artwork combines Bedouin embroidery traditions with art and craft production – from ceramics, to embroidery, to jewelry. Zenab teaches art in the Bedouin community and also exhibits internationally.

– A package of five decorative blank greeting cards each featuring original artwork created by residents of ADI rehabilitation centers which provide comprehensive solutions for children, adolescents, and adults living with severe disabilities and complex medication conditions across Israel and in the ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitation Village, the first-ever rehabilitation hospital in Israel’s south.

– Three 100ml bottles of top quality, hand-pressed olive oil from Ptora, a family owned, culinary boutique and farm which produces and sells products from a range of Israeli farmers.

– This solidarity tag necklace was specially designed to support the efforts of the families of the hostages in raising awareness and encouraging advocacy along with them. “Bring them home now” is featured in English and Hebrew on this official dog-tag style necklace with chain.

And more!

At a cost of $225 USD your purchase will directly support vendors in Israel. Choose to buy these charming gifts for yourselves, family, or friends in Israel or North America.
