Itinerary

1 - Monday ( March 18 ) : Thank You for Being Here

Activities:

  • Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport - After collecting your bags meet your tour guide and driver and transfer to Tel Aviv. VIP service can be arranged for an additional cost.

  • Group transfer to Tel Aviv & check-in to the hotel - Please note: check-in time is from 3:00 PM.

  • Orientation and welcome drinks and snacks - Get to know your tour guide and fellow participants.

  • Situation Update with leading journalist - David Horovitz, Yaacov Katz or similar.

  • Dinner with survivors from the Nova Music Festival - Hear first-hand testimonies from some of those who survived the Nova Festival massacre followed by dinner.

2 - Tuesday ( March 19 ) : Seeds of Hope

Activities:

  • Breakfast at your hotel

  • Volunteer at Leket - Israel’s Food Bank - Which rescues healthy surplus food and delivers it to those in need. Sort and pack produce for distribution to soup kitchens, food pantries, senior citizens centers and homeless shelters.

  • Packed lunch

  • Visit The Square of the Kidnapped and Missing - If possible - meet a family member of a released hostage. The square is located in front of the Tel Aviv Art Museum. See the powerful art created by various artists, including the Shabbat Table set for 200 missing Israelis, to show support and shine a spotlight on the importance of rescuing the lives of those abducted to Gaza. (Hopefully, by the time of this mission, all of the hostages will have been released and back home with their families.)

  • Free time at Levinsky Market - This market specializes in spices and Mediterranean delicacies. It is, in many ways, the best market in Tel Aviv, known for its variety, freshness, and special atmosphere. Whether you are looking for a rare Indian spice or some good quality saffron - this is the place. Shops offer a cornucopia of excellent cheeses, smoked fish, wines, and other delicacies.

  • Graffiti tour in Florentine - Trauma expressed on the walls - In Tel Aviv’s most bohemian and upbeat neighborhood, learn about contemporary Israeli culture through the graffiti on the walls, and see an Israel that you might not know. This hippest neighborhood is always a favorite of graffiti artists, where now they express the trauma the entire country has experienced.

  • Free evening and dinner on your own - Meal and transfers are not included.

3 - Wednesday ( March 20 ) : The Courageous People of the South

Activities:

  • Early breakfast at your hotel

  • Volunteer at a local farm - Help local farmers by picking vegetables and other crops to help ensure Israeli food and nutrition security as well as supporting their bossiness in times that they are dealing with a shortage of workers during this war.

  • Packed picnic lunch - (meal included).

  • Bear witness - visit Kibbutz Be'eri or Kfar Aza - Witness the brutality at the kibbutz while wandering the quiet paths and green lawns surrounding the houses burned and destroyed on October 7.

  • A geo-political brief overlooking Gaza Strip - Stop at key lookout point for an in-depth discussion of the complexity of the Gaza Border situation and brief history of this region with your guide.

  • Optional: bring goodies for soldiers serving in this area - (gifts are not included)

  • Home hospitality and authentic meal with Osi Lankri one of Ofakim's "Culinary Queens" - Enjoy a home-cooked meal in Osi's home- hear about her life in Ofakim where she was born and raised, and how the war affected her family, neighbors and the entire town.

4 - Thursday ( March 21 ) : Volunteer with the IDF

Activities:

  • Breakfast at your hotel

  • Volunteer with Sar El - Day of volunteering at an army base with Sar-El, the National Project for Volunteers for Israel, a non-profit organization that allows volunteers from overseas to come and serve logistical roles in the Israel Defence Forces.

  • Lunch at the IDF Base - (meal included).

  • Visit Brothers For Life Home - Meet one of the staff members of the Brothers for Life non-profit organization at their center which is a home of their community, and hear about their special mission. BFL vision is that every wounded combat soldier receives the care and support needed to ensure his return to fulfilling and contributive life.

  • Back in Tel Aviv - Dinner at Ha'Achim - At the beginning of the 2023 Hamas-Israel War the owner of Ha'Achim restaurant applied for an received a temporary Kashrut certificate so that they could cook and deliver food the Israel's IDF soldiers! The restaurant offers a spin on middle eastern cuisine by modernizing classic dishes. (meal included).

5 - Friday ( March 22 ) : Jerusalem - the Heart of The Jewish People

Activities:

  • Breakfast at your hotel

  • Visit the Lone Soldier Center in memory of Michael Levin - Their mission is to assist Lone Soldiers before, during, and after their army service. They provide them with food, laundry, basic necessities, advice, social events, Shabbat meals and more. A “lone soldier” is an IDF soldier with no family in Israel to support him or her. A lone soldier may be a new immigrant, a volunteer from abroad, an orphan, or an individual from a broken home. Meet with the staff and one of the soldiers who live in the center and hear about their service and the support they gain from this organization. Optional: donate gifts and pack together gift bags as a group to leave at their home.

  • Experience the vibrant life in Shuk Machane Yehuda - After hearing and witnessing so much pain and destruction during your days in Israel, we will head to Machane Yehuda Market, and experience the vibrant life of Jerusalem. At a bustling multi-ethnic market bursting with life, enjoy the hustle and bustle with all the rich fragrances, colors, and sounds this iconic market offers. Friday at Machane Yehuda is an extra special treat. You can sense Shabbat is in the air. There is an added urgency to the shopping frenzy as shoppers look for the nicest and freshest in honor of the Sabbat. Take time to explore and taste something you haven't tried before.

  • Take time to reflect at the Western Wall - Appreciate the moment of being in Israel, standing with the Jewish People, and being part of the chain of generations. Feel the stones that have witnessed so much in the history of the Jews.

  • Travel back to Tel Aviv and get ready for dinner

  • Shabbat Dinner with special guests - Meet with families of victims or evacuees, hear first-hand their personal stories and how they are facing the future despite what they went through. Celebrate Shabbat together with a delicious meal.

6 - Saturday ( March 23 ) : Israeli Weekend Atmosphere in Tel Aviv

  • Breakfast at your hotel

  • Free day, time to explore, rest or meet with relatives - Guide, transportation, and meals are not included on this day.
    Optional on this day:
    - Visit Be'eri Art Gallery temporary home at Beit Romano.
    - Visit the ANU Museum of the Jewish People.
    - Wander the beautiful streets of Jaffa Old City, see the art galleries and eat at the Jaffa Market.
    - Rent a bike and ride along Tel Aviv's beach promenade.

  • In the evening Purim Holiday begins - join a local community for reading the Esther Megillah and celebrate together - Optional and not included: we can organize a festive evening and invite guests for example - families of soldiers in the reserves / lone soldiers / evacuees / survivors from the massacre.

7 - Sunday ( March 24 ) : Partnership Day - Coming Together, Unity, Peoplehood

  • Partnership Day - Meet with your federation's Etzbah Hagalil partnership. Schedule - TBC.

  • Purim Celebration with the Partnership - Don't forget to bring your Purim costumes and Mishloach Manot (Purim baskets) to give to your fellow friends from the partnership. (party expenses are not included)

  • Closing session - This a good time to reflect on your past week and share with the group members your insights and personal experience.

  • Druze home hospitality and meal, and meet with families of Druze soldiers - Enjoy an authentic meal and home hospitality. Get to know your hosts and their culture and history. Hear about the strong bond between the Druze community to the State of Israel and their contribution to the IDF. (Dinner is included)

  • Travel back to Tel Aviv.

  • Tel Aviv

8 - Monday ( March 25 ) : Farewell

FAQ

Are there special travel insurance guidelines during this time?

It is a requirement that trip insurance be purchased. At this time, not all carriers will provide such insurance for travel to Israel.  It is important to make sure that the policy includes coverage for “cancel for any reason” and specifies war and terrorism in the categories of "cancel for any reason". In all events, insurance should be purchased to cover the full cost of the tour, including flights.  We understand that the following company offers this type of policy. You are welcome to contact and receive a proposal from Travel Guard, through this link.

General guide for tipping

Tips are not included in the cost of a tour and are always at your discretion. Having said that, in Israel, it is customary to add a gratuity of 15-20% at a restaurant and to tip your guide and driver. For all groups ranging from 2-6 people, it is suggested that you tip the tour guide $70 -$100 (from the group) per day. For groups larger than 8, it is recommended to tip $8-$12 per person, per day + 50% for your bus driver. Please note! Unless stated otherwise, on our group tours, the hotels, restaurants with meals included and serving staff is being generously tips by our staff - on your behalf. If you are not sure, check with your guide or operator for further details.

Terms of Payment

To confirm your reservation, registration is mandatory. Once registered, you will receive the terms and conditions within 48 hours, which must be acknowledged to complete your booking. To avoid penalties, cancellations must be made within the initial 48-hour period. Beyond this timeframe, an invoice for the trip’s cost will be issued, with payment expected upon receipt.

The itinerary is susceptible to modifications due to unforeseen factors such as supplier updates, weather conditions, government restrictions, and other necessary adjustments based on on-site conditions.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation up to 48 hours from registration without penalty.  After 48 hours, full payment due and client will incur 100% of the cost of the tour without refund.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing.

After 48 hours, invoice will be sent, together with full terms and conditions for this tour. Payment due upon receipt of invoice.
