1 - Tuesday ( November 12 ) : Welcome to this Special Journey

  • 2:00 p.m. Meet at gathering place and set out for your journey

  • Why the Desert? Opening conversation with Rabbi Booth - Heading deep into the Negev desert, stop at Avdat on the ancient Nabatean Spice route. After a short hike to the top and hearing the history of the site and, have an opening conversation with Rabbi Booth about the complexity of the desert in our history, theology, and reality. The nomadic Nabateans transported valuable spices, perfumes, and even wine, from the Arabian Peninsula to Europe along this route, over 2,000 years ago.

  • Wine Tasting and L'chaim to the trip at Nana Winery - In the heart of desert, between ancient stone terraces and barren golden sand hills, wine vineyards appear. The powerful site is hard to describe in words. Experienced vintner Eran Raz, nicknamed "Nana", has created a quality leading wine in what some may be surprised to call ideal conditions for quality vine growth.

2 - Wednesday ( November 13 ) : I've Been to the Desert...

Through local spirits, quality Israeli produce, cultural design, and Israeli innovation, meet the staff of an Israeli cocktail 'start-up' and see how they translate this into amazing cocktails. Cocktails are mixed with Israeli alcohol, fruit in season, and wrapped into the Israeli story. You’ll have a chance to learn to mix the drinks as well.

3 - Thursday ( November 14 ) : Perspectives- What you See from Here Cannot Be Seen from There

  • Early morning jeep ride in Makhtesh Ramon - Ride through the stunning Negev Desert and get to know the endless variations of the landscape. Explore the area of Makhtesh Ramon and immerse yourself in the details of the land around you.

  • Lunch in the crater with Masait Food Truck - The "MASAIT" (truck in Hebrew) in the middle of the desert is the most popular restaurant on wheels in the area run by chef Nir Alkasi. Nir cooks his delicious foods and is also known by soldiers as "Nir, the Shnitzel King of Nitzana."

  • Meet with business leaders in Beer Sheva - Be'er-Sheva and the Negev cover almost two-thirds of the country's land area, and are considered the most significant source of available land reserves. The Israeli government transferred the IDF's elite units to the south, as well as changing national priorities, and the establishment of the national cyber complex – CyberSpark - in Be'er-Sheva, place the city in the heart of the Israeli high-tech industry. Can the periphery be transformed?

  • Drive to Jerusalem

  • Stop at another overlook to make the transition to Jerusalem - From the Haas Promenade take in a wide view of Jerusalem's Old and New Cities and the surrounding Judean Desert as far as the eye can see.   • Visit Merhav Marpe, a center devoted to addressing the needs of Nova Survivors - Merhav Marpe(from Hebrew: Healing Space) is a pioneering response to the mental and emotional trauma the October 7th tragedy and the subsequent war inflicted on Israel. Founded in the immediate aftermath of the massacres, Merhav Marpe recognized both the ongoing nature of the trauma and its ripple effect throughout the whole of Israeli society. Through a holistic approach, Merhav Marpe works to repair the mind-body connection broken by the trauma and build multiple modalities of resilience to ensure the future

  • Hagal Sheli (My Wave) - Surfing lesson with Hagal Sheli (My Wave), an NGO that uses surfing as a vehicle for personal development and advancement. In 2012 Omer and Yaron, educational entrepreneurs and avid surfers, developed a unique surfing program for transforming the lives of youth-at-risk. Their mission: Empower youth to never give up, to continue to pursue their dreams and to ultimately succeed: ‘In the ocean, as in life’. Hear about Hagal Sheli's programs to address the outcomes of the war.

  • Meetings with relevant business leaders TBD

  • Meeting with leaders of Achim L'Meshek and other activists who mobilized after October 7 - At the onset of the war, leaders of Israel's social protest movement mobilized and used its network to transform into a central, operational address for responding to needs of soldiers and evacuees. Visit their operations base at Glilot, meet with leaders and volunteers, and learn about their mission.

  • Early evening Graffiti Tour - Explore contemporary Israeli culture through an urban inquisitive graffiti tour in the Florentin neighborhood. What stories do these images and words tell about the people living here? What social issues are reflected in the art on the walls? What is unique about graffiti in Israel and Tel Aviv specifically?

  • Final dinner at Poupee Restaurant - Poupee's chef specializes in haute kosher cuisine, with a vision to combine the world of haute cuisine and bridge the gap between traditional Jewish culture and foodies.

Terms of Payment

Deposit is due immediately to secure the booking.

Balance for the trip is due no later than 60 days prior to the first day of trip. An invoice will be sent 90 days before the trip.

  • The itinerary is subject to change as a result of unforeseen changes from suppliers, weather, etc.
  • This proposal is valid for 1 week for private clients, and 10 days for groups. 

 

Cancellation Policy

Bookings can be cancelled within 48 hours AFTER REGISTRATION, with a full refund.

For cancellations made:

·         Up to 60 days prior to departure, any payments above the deposit towards the trip will be refunded. The deposit is non-refundable.

·         60-30 days prior to departure, 50% of the total tour cost per person will be refunded.

·         29-0 days prior to departure, the client will incur 100% of the cost of the tour.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing.
