1 - Friday ( May 24 ) : Welcome to Israel

  • Welcome to Israel

  • Arrival at Ben Gurion airport - Our welcoming rep will be waiting to greet you at passport check. After assisting with arrival procedures and collecting your baggage, you will be taken to meet your driver.

  • Drive to Jerusalem and check in to your hotel - Depending on time of arrival - OPTIONAL:
    Stop for coffee and introduction at a unique coffee cart on the way to Jerusalem.
    OR - stop at the hotel to freshen up, before the old city.

  • L'chaim at the lobby of the hotel - OPTIONAL: L'Chaim at the Jerusalem Gardens(on the way to meet the soldiers)

  • Meet Soldiers the the Sapir/Schottenstein Heritage Center - The Sapir/Schottenstein Heritage Center is an already-existing and fully functional building located in the Jewish quarter in Jerusalem that will serve as a dormitory for officers, commanders and soldiers who come home for a few days to attend long workshops. It has a beautiful architecture, built with Jerusalem stone, and beautifully designed arches. FIDF took on the renovation as well as its furnishing. Jewish education and heritage and the history of Jerusalem is taught there by the Education Corps.

2 - Saturday ( May 25 ) : Shabbat Shalom

  • Walking tour of Jerusalem - "Between Renewal and Preservation" - Embark on a captivating Jerusalem tour, where the intertwined tapestry of renewal and preservation comes alive. Traverse ancient streets revitalized by modern artistry, witnessing the harmonious dance of time-honored heritage and vibrant rejuvenation.

  • Lunch at Chef Rabbi Josh- haredim/religious changes - Rabbi Josh is a Talmud scholar, a documentary filmmaker, a registered tour guide and specialty chef at Jerusalem’s iconic Tmol Shilshom Restaurant. Overyour meal, Rabbi Josh speaks on a wide range of topics from his riveting personal story to an explanation of Jewish tradition and an introduction to the Talmud.

  • OPTIONAL tour of Nachlaot - Nachlaot is known for its narrow, winding lanes, old-style housing, hidden courtyards and many small synagogues. In the wake of gentrification projects in the area, the face of the neighborhood has changed while retaining its unique character.

3 - Sunday ( May 26 ) : The Complexity of Remembering

Activities:

  • Visit the Hall of Remembrance at Mount Herzl - As Israel’s national cemetery, Mount Herzl is the final resting place of leaders of Zionism and Israel, including Yitzhak Rabin and Herzl himself, and of thousands of soldiers killed defending the State of Israel. At Mount Herzl you will find a moving monument to the 28,000-odd soldiers and civilians killed in combat or by terrorism since the founding of the state.

  • Head out of Jerusalem and drive south

  • Continue to an Army Base Visit including lunch at the base

  • Dinner with soliders: Mangal Israeli - "Al HaEsh" with a bonfire - joined by lone soldiers - "Al Ha'esh" is a Hebrew phrase that translates to "on the fire" or "on the grill." It's often used to refer to grilled food, particularly in the context of barbecues and outdoor cooking in Israel. The BBQ is never about the food. It's about the atmosphere, experience, and most of all - the people!

4 - Monday ( May 27 ) : The Beauty and the Power of the Negev

  • Half-day Volunteering - Agriculture, re-building, or other- lunch will be included

  • Visit Sde Boker Grave of Ben Gurion - Visit the grave of David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first Prime Minister, and his wife Paula, located near Sde Boker. One of his famous quotes is: "It is in the Negev that the creativity and pioneer vigor of Israel will be tested, and this will be a crucial test" - his vision for settling the desert continues to bloom today. Overlook towards the breathtaking Tzin Valley and the Avdat highlands in the heart of the Negev. Throughout the day, you’ll see his vision come to life.

  • Hike near Sde Boker

  • Meet with Bedouin Trakkers - These soldiers will share with you the ancient knowledge developed by Bedouin nomads, which allow the soldiers to track the movement of Israel's enemies and lead special units of the Israeli army to the enemy locations to neutralize any risk to Israel and its citizens.

5 - Tuesday ( May 28 ) : Understanding the Gaza Envelope Area

  • Geopolitical tour of the Gaza Envelope with Grisha Yakubovich - Stop at key lookout points for an in-depth discussion of the complexity of the Gaza Border situation. Grisha Yakubovich served in the Israel Defence Forces for 30 years, ending his career as Head of the Civil Coordination Department of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). He now consults and guides educational tour of the Gaza Border and the West Bank.

  • Army Base Visit/Kibbutz/Party survivors/hostages - Or Karmei Gat or Reim

  • FIDF Sports Day

  • Drive to Tel Aviv and check in to your hotel

  • Meet Michal, an FIDF staff member and a bereavement officer in her reserve duty,

  • Dinner at Guetta or other - On Jaffa's Jerusalem Boulevard, across from the Gesher Theater, Gueta restaurant keeps to its traditional Tripoli style of cooking, using old recipes that have been passed through generations.

6 - Wednesday ( May 29 ) : Tel Aviv- Then and Now

What is unique about graffiti in Israel and Tel Aviv specifically? In this dynamic tour through Florentin, Tel Aviv's best-known neighborhood for graffiti, you will answer these questions, share your interpretations, and gain an appreciation for this expressive form of art.

  • Lunch at Levinsky Market - The Levinsky Market specializes in spices and Mediterranean delicacies. It is, in many ways, the best market in Tel Aviv, known for its variety, freshness, and special atmosphere. Whether you are looking for a rare Indian spice or some good quality saffron - this is the place. Shops offer a cornucopia of excellent cheeses, smoked fish, wines, and other delicacies. Tour the market and have "tastings" throughout.

  • Pending-Visit the Square of the Kidnapped and Missing or meet returned captive and their families - The square of the Kidnapped and Missing in front of the Tel Aviv Art Museum. See the powerful art created by various artists, including the Shabbat Table set for 200 missing Israelis, to show support and shine a spotlight on the importance of rescuing the lives of those abducted to Gaza. (Hopefully, by the time of this mission, all of the hostages will have been released and back home with their families.)

  • Dinner on your own - OR - "Evolution of Street Food" - a tour through the stolls and the hidden street food gems of Tel Aviv, telling the story of this fabulous city, through street food.

Terms of Payment

Deposit is due immediately to secure the booking.

Balance for the trip is due no later than 60 days prior to the first day of trip. An invoice will be sent 90 days before the trip.

  • The itinerary is subject to change as a result of unforeseen changes from suppliers, weather, etc.
  • This proposal is valid for 1 week for private clients, and 10 days for groups. 

 

Cancellation Policy

Bookings can be cancelled within 48 hours AFTER REGISTRATION, with a full refund.

For cancellations made:

·         Up to 60 days prior to departure, any payments above the deposit towards the trip will be refunded. The deposit is non-refundable.

·         60-30 days prior to departure, 50% of the total tour cost per person will be refunded.

·         29-0 days prior to departure, the client will incur 100% of the cost of the tour.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing.
