In search of Israeli cuisine What an amazing trip! We look forward to searching for Israeli Cuisine 11, if there is such a thing. Orit, the tour guide, gave everything she could to make our trip meaningful. She was very responsive and bent backwards to please everyone. She was diplomatic and made us feel like we had a say in the itinerary on a daily basis. I didn’t always get my way, but it was fun lobbying for my cause.A memorable moment was showing the new immigrant children how to use a my camera at their agricultural school. The dinners with the Druze family and the Bedouin lady’s home gave us the feeling that they really enjoyed having us for their meal. I can’t stop talking about the trip to all my friends. The food was so good at the hotels, that I had to video the spread on Facebook to my friends. They wanted to know, where I was and it was insane in a good way. I took over five hundred picture and I am still sorting through them and the good times. We learned so much about the origins of the foods, how to harvest the olives, watch the making of kachina, how to make challahs, how to understand the various cultures in Israel and especially how to prepare different dishes. We were treated like kings and queens and we will never forget the good times.ThanksFrank Blatt PharmD

In Search of Israeli Cuisine We indeed had a wonderful time during our travels to Israel. Yael, Avihai and especially our leader Orit knew exactly how to make our trip amazing. We were lucky to be with a group of “strangers” who became family in a few short days. The trip took us to amazing places that were not included in our previous visits to Israel and those few previously visited places were totally changed. Since we were in search of Israeli Cuisine, I can only say I think we found it during our trip. So much wonderful food in so many wonderful places, prepared and served by so many wonderful people!! Hotels were great and centrally located. We totally appreciated the VIP treatment on arrival and the car service to the airport after spending Shabbat in Tel Aviv at the end of the trip. Once again I want to acknowledge our wonderful guide Orit - she just knew the right thing to do and how to get the group moving the right way. Oh yes and thanks for the surprise Wine Truck!!! We just love Israeli wine!!! We have already recommended Via Sabra to several people, and we hope the also take advantage of the Via Sabra hospitality.

An amazing two weeks! My wife and I just finished a two-week visit to Israel with Via Sabra. It’s impossible to pick a favorite location or event as the entire trip from start to finish was amazing. The service provided by Via Sabra and our guide Dany was outstanding in every way. We wholeheartedly recommend Via Sabra for any family or group planning a trip to Israel.

Amazing Culinary Adventure in Israel. Wow. We just returned from our adventure, "In Search of Israeli Cuisine" and it was an awesome experience. Every detail from landing to take-off was perfectly planned and executed. The leadership team, including Avihai, met with us at the hotel on day one and spent a lot of time discussing the upcoming 2 weeks. We were on a culinary tour but don't worry, it included many of the "must see" sights of Jerusalem and elsewhere in Israel. The itinerary was spectacular and we visited many places that other tours don't. Our small group of 10 quickly integrated into a cohesive family as we traversed the land. We had dinners in the home of a Druze couple and a Bedouin family. We made challah on Friday morning and returned to the same place that evening for a Shabbat feast. Our tour guide, Orit, was fabulous. Her extensive knowledge of modern and historical Israel was surpassed only by her expertise in food. I could go on but this is supposed to be a review, not a book. When researching the trip I saw all the 5/5 reviews and thought they can't be true. I was wrong and have now joined the 5/5 posters. I give Via Sabra and its leadership team my highest recommendation!

Brilliant. And accessible for a wheelchair user Via Sabra - what a fabulous company. We needed 2 tours one for Haifa and one for Ashdod. My daughter is wheelchair bound and our cruise ship had zero tours available for anybody with any type of disabilities. After much research I found via Sabra. Not only did they interact with me immediately they arranged for the best tour guide and driver Eli to pick us up at both ports and arranged two fabulous tours. We went everywhere it it was much appreciated. We went to Bethlehem and Via Sabra arranged for a local tour guide to take us into the church of the Nativity whilst Eli waited for us nearby. We had two great lunches in local places too. I cannot thank them enough for helping us see Israel and Palestine with our disabled daughter. A million thanks. Eli even pushed Holly around for us a few times ! Israel is accessible don’t let a cruise ship tell it isn’t. Book with Via Sabra and let them show you

Unique and insightful Via Sabra put together such a unique and meaningful experience for our group. Having visited Israel multiple times, I was so impressed how they set up intimate experiences with businesses, families, leaders and organizations to get “inside” the themes we focused on and hear the real, lived experiences from people in their communities. Beyond the incredible itinerary, the logistics and details were flawless, down to dietary needs (gluten-free, allergies) and accommodating those in our group with mobility limitations so they could fully participate. A+.

Multiple narratives of Israel Tour I believe in slow travel. I'm definitely NOT a tour person. Everything about Via Sabra blew my previous conceptions of what an organized tour could be.The Dual Narrative Tour covered the 2 or more narratives that co-exist in Israel/Palestine that of Jews, Muslims, and Christians living together with power differences that can't be ignored . From Bethlehem to all Jerusalem from Hebron to Matat, from Akko to Tel Aviv we met many stunning Israeli and Palestinians who are dedicated to peace. Our 2 main guides, Karmit and Emili shared their perspectives on living in one of the most complex areas of the world. We had opportunities to visit Sinsila, a bee keeping economic development program for Palestinian women to produce income from honey, bees wax, and herbs. We met with Dr. Rachel Karazim at Yad Vashem for a distinctly Israeli take on theHolocaust. We lunched with Palestinian hosts in Bethlehem. We witnessed the difference in living conditions between Israelis and Palestinians in Hebron. We began shabbat with Rabbi Tamar Elad Applebaum at her synagogue, Kehilat Zion. Imagine my surprise to see Orthodox Jews sitting alongside priests to hear Rabbi Tamar speak. In Tel Aviv, we celebrated kabbalat shabbat on the main pier withpeople who had driven in from Bar Sheva to people passing by. It was a trip of many liftetimes.
